I feel compelled to tell you – even though I am a random stranger, I believe the divine sends us encouragement and inspiration from the least likely of places – that the thing you’re afraid to do is waiting for you to let go of your fear and give birth to it. And if you can’t let go of the fear, put it in a chokehold and drag it along with you on the journey. Eventually, once we push long enough, our fears have no choice but to surrender in the face of our courage.
I don’t know you in the general sense of the word and I will not presume to know your journey, but know that many of us struggle with fear of the unknown, the uncertainty of risks, never being sure if it will be success or failure that awaits us down the road.
But I believe half the battle is in trying, and being vulnerable is true strength and beauty.
There are no guarantees in life. There’s what we do and what we choose not to do. The rest is out of our control. And while I can’t promise you that success will be the end result of all this trying and doing, what I can tell you is that the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes from daring greatly is unparalleled. There’s nothing else in the world quite like it.
I read somewhere once that fear is temporary, but regret is forever. It was followed by the encouragement to “risk happy.” That quote resonates with me very deeply and I wanted to share it with you. Ever so often it reminds me why it is important to take a chance on my dreams, and I hope it will inspire you too.
Forgive the sermon. My intent is not to preach. I just know in a way I can’t explain that this thing you lose sleep thinking about doing is waiting for you to do it. Yes, you may fall. But darling, what if you fly?
And believe me when I tell you the world is going to be that much more epic for it.
Love and light,
Anna
